Pre-stretched (PRE MET)

The new frontier in the application of industrial packaging products is the pre- stretched film , a product of excellence for which EPM SpA has been one of the main European producers for many years.

Pre-stretched films – PRE MET products – are materials made with a thinner thickness (from 5 to 12 microns), which, compared to traditional films, allow the same packaging operations to be carried out with almost unchanged results and significant savings in terms of quantity used and disposed of.

The advantages of using pre-stretched films, available both with the cardboard mandrel and in the coreless version (without cardboard tube), can be summarized as follows:

• Same number of operations with less product use ( saving of about 50% of quantity )
• Lower quantity of product disposed of (about 50%) with the same operations
• Less space needed for the storage of the reels
• Greater convenience for operating personnel in packaging operations, especially in manual product applications (lighter reel weight)
• Reduction of the costs of disposal operations of the quantities of plastic and cardboard especially in the use of coreless products

EPM’s range of pre-stretched products SpA includes low thickness PRE MET film with cardboard tube, low thickness PRE MET film without cardboard tube (coreless), PRE MET film with normal profile or with reinforced edges (compact wrapping or soft wrapping) and has the following technical characteristics :
